We support and celebrate the educational journey of students who are among the first in their family to attend college. First Generation Support Services (FGSS) serves the students whose parents/caregivers did not graduate from a four-year college.

We serve the collective interests of graduate and professional students at UCSF in order to improve student life on a university and system wide level through dialogue, action, and activities between students, faculty, and staff.

Synapse – the student online newspaper

As one of the few truly interprofessional networks on campus, Synapse provides a platform to encourage and facilitate interdisciplinary communication among all UCSF students and trainees while fostering career and professional development in journalism.

Administrative


Communications

We provide centralized communications services and support. Communications staff also serve on campus-wide committees to strengthen the quality of communications, create and share resources that benefit all OESA units, seek out collaborative partnerships, and promote and support the needs and perspectives of students and trainees at UCSF.

Finance and Administration

The Finance and Administration team supports fiscal and planning processes across all OESA units and for the vice chancellor’s office.
